The MWS-15 is a modular semi-automatic rifle. The weapon is fed with .223 Rem ammunition 5.56 x 45 mm NATO or .300 AAC Blackout. The length of the barrel is 8 to 20 inches. The MWS-15 modern rifle is a 100% modular construction, it is an excellent base for creating ideal configuration that meets the requirements practically for every user.

The MWS-15 rifle from the beginning was being created for special forces and rapid response sub-units, therefore we came up with the approach for acquiring unusually reliable weapon, that can rapidly adapt to any given task and adjust to any caliber – the MWS-15 was designed for shooting, first of all with the .300 BLK ammunition. Besides the rifle is simple and can be easily adjusted to NATO 5.56 mm ammunition when the barrel is replaced.

The MWS-15 Modular Weapon System is just an another representative of modular weapon system family manufactured by Zakłady Mechaniczne “Tarnów”. The most essential component of this innovative MWS-15 rifle is gas mechanism that is based on movement of a short piston, it guarantees high level of reliability. The MWS-15 rifle is equipped with classic upper and lower manipulators respectively that are positioned on the trigger guard for ambidextrous people. The unique construction makes firing possible even with the unfolded buttstock.

The current ZMT goods are known and appreciated i.e.: ZMT MWS-25 (that is a base commodity) and the ZMT MWS-25 (that is a base commodity) and ZMT MWS-38 (58% of the product consists of the parts from the MWS-25). The initial MWS-15 was created on the same principle – however, in this case we deal with the 74-percent only that the parts transferred from base weapon construction.

Description

60 mm Light Commando Mortar is designed for destructive kinetic impact against enemy combat systems and to destroy manpower, light field fortifications as well as firearms and military technology with semi-indirect fire. Due to the high range and high fragmentation of the projectile, the mortar provides effective support to the fighting units under different optical visibility and atmospheric conditions both during the day and at night. The steep trajectory of the missile and the small dimensions of the mortar in the combat position allow the targets to be struck by semi-indirect fire, i.e. observed from the firing position.

LMC manufactured by ZM Tarnów S.A. is the only mortar on the market that allows to fire projectiles up to 2.2 kg while ensuring the guaranteed durability of the barrel at the level of 2000 shots. The LMC mortar is designed to fire 60 mm MAPAM (Mortar Anti-Personal Anti-Material) ammunition with a propellant charge I (Charge 1) by SAAB Bofors Dynamics. The LMC mortar is equipped with a built-in programmable digital sight with the display of the distance to the target and display of angular values, which enables to fire other 60 mm rounds with a caliber compliant with the STANAG 4425 ed. 2 of any manufacturer under the condition that the propellant is limited to the permissible pressure value and the digital sight is reprogrammed to implemented compatible shooting tables.

Description

By the name command post we must understand the entire vehicle dedicated for control – the vehicle consists of the following parts: command terminal, combat fire control panel, means of communication box, for exchanging information and data with an overriding command post, radar and radiolocation station, for monitoring the state of readiness and ongoing combat activities conducted by the subordinate firing units.

The command post is built up in the Jelcz vehicle. This is a special vehicle designed for military purposes, it is dedicated for military structures, it is used on public roads and on paved roads in off-road conditions. The command posts dedicated for officers and commanders are in the cabin of the vehicle. The command post carries out the tasks of the entire firing unit battery command process – it is designated to implement the two kinds of tasks: tactical command (directing the fight) and fire command (fire control).

The communication box is mounted on the cargo platform of the vehicle. The box is a build-up settlement for the Information Communications Technology devices (ICT) and the power supply system of the command post. The box itself is a kind of physical protection for the devices placed inside the RED zone it is also a material protection against electromagnetic emission.

The command post software is tasked to support command processes and to direct the fight of the subordinate firing units. It captures and converts images of air traffic plight, from the collected data, it also acquires the operational and tactical information from the devices equipped in the battery. The software used in the command post is capable of managing, guiding and controlling not less than six firing units, one radiolocation station, and it is also adapted to connect one external radiolocation station or one overriding command post, in order to increase operational awareness of the commander in chief.

The fire control subsystem of the command post consists of the two posts, which are built on the basis of portable computers (notebooks, laptops) that were preliminarily programed with a proper software tasked for peek-preview of the situation and decision-making. It is also equipped with a weather sensor, in order to collect meteorological data, and the GPS receiver which transmits positioning data.

The emergency subsystem of the command post is designated to protect classified information, that may take place at the command post, against third parties: e.g. sabotage or espionage activities, or access by unauthorized persons. It is also secured against assault, burglary or theft.

The contamination removal subsystem of the command post secures protection of the personnel staying inside the cabin. In any case of vehicle exploitation in the contaminated area, the ventilation and filtering devices mounted in the vehicle, protect the crew against harmful gases, the ventilation system creates excess pressure of clean air in the cabin.

In any case of vehicle exploitation in the contaminated area, the ventilation and filtering devices mounted in the vehicle, protect the crew against harmful gases, the ventilation system creates excess pressure of clean air in the cabin.
Gallery
Magdalena Wrona
https://www.zmt.tarnow.pl/wordpress/en/author/wrona/
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/d85f1fcd27c6d126fc8a096e4416ffa3ce3e38769f59447998cf27b53c1cde8f?s=512&d=mm&r=g"
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/d85f1fcd27c6d126fc8a096e4416ffa3ce3e38769f59447998cf27b53c1cde8f?s=512&d=mm&r=g"
https://www.zmt.tarnow.pl/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/stanowisko-1.jpg"

Description

Artillery tractor is a vehicle of an average load capacity but high mobility, it is used for hauling and transporting of the firing unit. Additionally it is equipped with a technical-service storage space for the firing unit.

The artillery tractors are flexible means of transportation for the firing unit, it is easy to relocate the vehicle in between the quarters, because the vehicle is just an another version of a truck. The chassis is typical for the wheeled vehicle, the chassis clearance is quite high, the tires are equipped with off-road thread and most importantly, it is a four-wheel drive transmission. The firing unit can be towed, hauled or transported on the platform of the vehicle inside the cargo hutch.

What is more, the fire, or any other combat activities, can be carried out directly from the platform cargo hutch of the vehicle. Also, the fire can be carried out remotely as well, from the inside of the vehicle’s cabin.

The hardware platform of the vehicle is made of truss construction with number of storage compartments and a storage rack. The storage capacity is enough for one firing unit and two equipment units – artillery and rocket sets. The dimensions of the artillery truck meet the requirements of road, railway and air transport regulations (in-country and NATO standards), the vehicle can be transported by the air-cargo carrier such as C-130 HERCULES. The cabin of the vehicle is adapted to work in hazards of contamination conditions, as well as, in desert conditions, because it is equipped with air-ventilation fans and air-filtering system.

The passenger capacity of the artillery tractor is four people total – it is the minimum service crew for the firing unit. The cabin is air-conditioned and adapted for the crew to rest or stand-by, there is also enough storage for ammunition, and all the necessary maintenance equipment to keep the unit ready and alert for 24 hours a day.

Description

PILICA – the anti-aircraft artillery rocket system is dedicated for aircraft defense, it is a short-range system (V-SHORAD).

The PSR-A PILICA evolved from the previously existing construction to the entirely new system, it was elaborated on the basis of experience and knowledge of the constructors working in the Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów S.A. who previously modernized earlier versions of the 23 mm anti-aircraft cannons and artillery rocket systems. The application of new technology solutions significantly improved effectiveness, firing accuracy and quality of the PSR-A PILICA. The system is capable of protection and coverage of single objects, such as command posts or larger areas, for example military units, airport and logistics bases against any air assaults.

The PSR-A PILICA is equipped with an integral sub-system of target detection and identification, combat and object management on the ground, in the air and on water surfaces, – these features allow the PSR-A PILICA achieving high combat effectiveness while maintaining high mobility and keeping low exploitation costs. The PSR-A PILICA is capable of destroying aircrafts and combat helicopters thanks to the increased speed of object detection and target tracking.

The PSR-A PILICA detects, recognizes and identifies objects, and then distributes separate tasks and commands in an automated way. The firing unit is capable of individual target detection, identification and combat in an autonomous mode (without sending data to the command post), the opto-electronic head and the IFF system makes it possible for the firing unit to work individually and autonomously. While switched to the system mode. However, when the system is switched to operation by the command post, the firing unit and its sub-systems receive data, commands and tasks in a separate data collection zone, this is a separate area of firing responsibility where the device reports statuses of executed combat tasks. The command reporting and task data receival collected in the command post is conducted in an automated way. The firing unit can be operated manually, the shooter can perform firing while keeping the automatic target tracking feature on (manual mode). The firing unit is equipped with a portable console for remote control, this device is for remote service. In case of power outage, failure or any power supply emergencies, the user can switch the device entirely to manual mode, at all times of its usage, using provided artillery weaponry. The firing unit is also equipped with a stabilized opto-electronic head with day-night vision, the head can work independently and autonomously in scope of area observation, target detection and identification. The head is not only a part of the guidance system, it is the main source of information for the entire system, because the detected, traced and recognized targets are rendered by the device in form of data, and this data is initially collected and then exchanged within the entire command network of the PSR-A PILICA.

The system consists of six firing units which are equipped with the following components: artillery vehicles, command posts, radio and radar stations; two transporting vehicles and two ammunition trucks. This is an autonomous battery, the firing units can work in a network-centric command system, nonetheless they have capability to work entirely in an automatic mode.
